The solidarity process

A confirmed death. A fair contribution. Support for the family.

When an FJH member dies, we verify the case, open a campaign and calculate an equal contribution for every member in good standing.

350+members in good standing

Before full benefits begin

Every new registrant completes the same six-month qualifying period.

This protects fairness for existing members and keeps the solidarity system dependable for everyone.

01

Register and pay

Complete the registration process and pay the applicable registration fee.

02

Receive a temporary number

FJH issues a temporary registration number once registration and payment are processed.

03

Complete six months

The qualifying period runs for six months from the date of registration and payment.

04

Full membership begins

After six months, full membership benefits begin, provided all membership requirements are met.

The same rule applies to every new registrant. Register early so your full membership benefits can begin six months from your registration date.

Step by step

What happens when a member dies.

01

Report the death

A family representative or next of kin contacts FJH privately after the death is officially confirmed.

02

Verify the membership

FJH confirms the person’s identity, registration, completed qualifying period and good-standing status.

03

Confirm the campaign target

FJH confirms the approved amount before opening the campaign.

04

Calculate each member’s share

The campaign target is divided equally among members in good standing.

05

Notify the members

Members receive the verified request, their equal share and the payment deadline through official FJH channels. A campaign, including any extension, remains open for no longer than two weeks.

06

Protect the family and transfer support

FJH transfers the approved support to the family or next of kin. If a shortfall remains, available reserve funds may be used under the approved rules while unpaid member contributions are recovered as debts owed to the association.

The power of numbers

See how more members reduce your contribution.

The campaign target is divided equally among members in good standing. The more members we have, the less each person contributes.

What makes the model work

Four things keep the model strong.

The calculation is simple. Making it work requires commitment from all of us.

01

More members

Every new member helps reduce the contribution for everyone.

02

Every campaign

Members in good standing contribute to every verified campaign. That is the commitment we make to one another.

03

A clear process

Verification, official communication and agreed rules keep every campaign organised.

04

Responsible leadership

FJH leaders apply the rules, protect fairness and keep the process accountable.

The family decides

FJH provides financial support. The family decides how to use it.

The family or next of kin chooses the funeral arrangements that best reflect their wishes and circumstances.

01

Repatriation

Bring their loved one back to Cameroon.

02

Burial

Arrange a burial in the Netherlands.

03

Cremation

Arrange a cremation in the Netherlands.

04

Another lawful choice

Choose another arrangement that meets the family’s wishes.
